[ There's several things Siffrin has to talk to Loop about today, excitement thrumming in their veins, but first off... finding them. It isn't like there's a designated spot anymore, but...
The greenhouse had been right before, and so their feet lead to that same almost-hidden away spot, book and invite carefully clutched to their chest.
[ Ohhhh, imagine they were not! A sudden loop thrown in the plans! The mysterious star not in the same spot, wherever could they be!
Which is to say, yes. Almost predictably so, they can be found in that almost-hidden away spot within the greenhouse. Though they look to be lounging back as if in the middle of a nice nap. No reason to sit around as if waiting for someone or something to happen. After all, not as if they have to stay here, but here they are anyways.
An apparent company though, they do freeze, until a peek and ah. Familiarity shows. ]
Hi, Stardust! How can I help you on this wonderful non-loop?
[ The light up of that expression surprises them, blinking quickly as their gaze flicks from him to... what is that. They push to sit up with one hand, the other coming to pluck up the invitation from their own lap and squint at it.
Ew. This letter reeks. The invitation dances in-between their fingers before clasping it between two to extend the invitation back to Siffrin. ]
On the chance you've somehow forgotten to read, this is addressed to you, Stardust.
[ Curiously though, they turn their gaze on that book next and just... stare. (...) ]
[ Excuse you? This letter is a precious treasure. Being tucked back away into his pockets, they can... talk about it later. It's kind of awkward to ask Loop to go anyway. ]
In my room. [ ... ] I don't know how or why, before you ask. I thought you'd like to see it too. Nice, aren't I?
[ Since Siffrin can't
ever
loop back and show them anything, so apparently this really is going to be part of their new thing now, that Siffrin will come and show things to Loop whether it's important or not! ]
[ Even as the letter is tucked away, Loop does raise a brow at him. Knowing there's obviously a reason for it to be shown to them. As if "you should go" isn't obvious enough but. A small tease, poke nearly comments on it, but they keep it to themselves as their topic shifts over.
Later then. Their head tilts, their hands coming to together in their own lap for some semblance of control. Though that comment pulls them from their distracted stupor, laughing. ]
"Nice"? Milking for more praises, are we? Oh yes, good job, Stardust! How sweet of you to think of me, my chest feels so warm!
[ Teehee. ] Well, obviously we must take a look. Would you like for me to hold onto it?
[ The amusement is clear even as they move on to take hold of the book that has now been deposited onto them. Let's see now... their hands are very careful, fingers lingering on the cover.
Stars. Always stars. (...) Before it can be picked on, they're already gently opening it before turning it so that Siffrin can get a good look. Slow, calculated flipping through the page as they skim the words. ]
Hmmm. For whatever the reason, it seems you've got your hands on someone's diary?
[ A glance to the side to peek at Siffrin, seeing their attention enraptured by the book. Well. Enter the Housemaiden, Mirabelle. ]
Shall I read it out loud? [ This passage here. ] "No one can understand what I've been through. Not my friends, not my family, no one. If no one can understand me, if I'm doomed to never be truly seen by another... if I'm the only one who can understand what I've gone through... then, couldn't I just create another self? Another me? Someone I could talk to, who could understand?"
A lot of it is this hopeless rambling. [ Flipping the pages along... ] A bit of theorizing?
It does seem difficult, doesn't it? Try as they may, they wouldn't receive the exact kind of results that they want.
[ Skimming along, passing by the harder to read scribbling, some words hardly legible. ]
..Oh! This might be something... "I've figured it out. How to create another me. Body Craft didn't work. Crafting clay didn't work. Nor wood, or marble. Nothing worked. But one thing could--"
[ Their finger stops at the next words. The text as clear as day with the words "Wish Craft." Their expression changes to one best described as surprise. ]
Why does that... sound so familiar...? You try and remember, but... it's been months, now. Why... Why? It's important, isn't it? It sounds important. No, you know it is, but why?) ]
[ With that recognition, they look back to the passage and turn the page over. Keep going. ]
"My wish came true. I will always be understood, now." That sounds impossible, and yet they did it..? A Craft that allows you to do the impossible... like creating..?
[ ... Okay??? Hold on, there's the sense of trying to word it. ]
... My friends don't get along well with each other, but they all get along with me. Two of them get along better with each other, but neither of them get along with the third.
It'd be nice to hang out together, is all.
[ But it feels impossible!!!!!
Yeah, this is the "I need help with friends/allies/family members" redux. ]
[ Is this really a ten minute conversation. Not that Loop knows, just humming in that "go on" notion at the mention of a question.
...Okay, well, they shouldn't be surprised it's something like this but at least with Loop even as bitter as they are they cared about Siffrin's family members. These are companions they have no attachment to. Why should they even help?
Just play the stupid part, Loop. ]
Have you tried asking why they don't get along with the third? Just because they all get along well with you, doesn't guarantee people will like each other, you know. That's not how it works, silly!
Callisto is the one that's hard to get along with... He's pushy and condescending to Gebura, and takes her words his own way. Gebura isn't the sort of person that speaks in doubles, so finding meaning where there isn't any annoys her. I guess he does it a lot. And he told me he likes to make her mad, since it's interesting. Not a lot of people push back against him, maybe.
Elysium... also doesn't get along with him, because they got off on the wrong foot, and it's turned into Callisto wanting to pluck Elysium's feathers. From what I can really tell there, Elysium pushed too much against him, and apparently being in the royal court is... like... if you were against Callisto, you wanted him dead. Even if it was just a disagreement.
He hasn't really acted either way to me, even though I've opposed him. I'm... going to get him to apologize to Elysium, and... I want to figure something out for Gebura, too, but...
[ ... ]
Do you... think that it's possible? For all of them to get along.
Yes yes, the man who behaves as if the Universe revolves around him! Even though you've opposed him, perhaps it's because you are at such a lower stature than him it's akin to a kitten hissing. So pathetically cute.
Say that you do manage to get him to apologize, how are you sure it's going to be genuine and real? And not something simply to please you? I highly doubt your feathery companion is going to accept an empty apology.
Unless royalty wants to change, which I highly doubt he's going to for you, I see little to no chance of it being possible. It'd be a different story if he wants to be on good terms with the other two, but it's just you, isn't it? That wants this.
It's too bad Loop can't see the flinch they get. It's good for Siffrin, of course, but Loop would've surely delighted in it. There's a lot to address here, but--
No. Siffrin's hanging up with a clench of his fist. Nevermind, this isn't a ten minute conversation, this is a leaving break early conversation.
(... It's selfish, of course it is, none of them want to get on with each other -- being civil is different, Elyisum had said, but asking them to get along just because you want them to...
... You really wish they would, though. This calling thing really is handy, if only not to see Loop's stupid face.) ]
[ Awww, boo. The hang up isn't surprising. How convenient it is to be able to do that when they aren't face to face. Loop can already imagine what kind of face he's likely making. Reality hurts, doesn't it?
It is a bit satisfying, even with that mingling bitterness. Hmmm... no, they'll leave it at that. Give it time to mull it over. ]
> Find Loop

And holds up the invite! It is... well. Being put in Loop's lap, please enjoy that, Siffrin is taking a seat beside them. ]
You should go. You won't even need a mask.
[ The book, cover starring... a star, is thus kept in his own lap. ]
And... I got this, too! I don't recognize it, but since it has a star, I thought maybe it'd be important! It's kind of fragile though.
